Yesterday was Anastasia's 2nd birthday, so we packed up the gang for the trip. We all had a good time. Lizzie was super shy, spent a solid 45 minutes sitting in my lap watching the other kids. The end of the party brought cake, and a bag of goodies for each kid to take home. So Lizzie had a lollypop on the way home. Of course, when we got home, her hands and face were sticky, she didn't want to wash her hands, and wanted another lollypop. It ended with a tantrum and crash-and-burn into a nap.
Later in the day, Liz and I got out the tent and set it up in the back yard. After about 20 minutes, Liz found a small stick, which she first tried to push out the small hole in the door zipper. Since she was unable to dispose of it that way, she used the next best method, shoving it up her nose. Needless to say, that was the end of the tent for the moment, as I carried her into the house screaming. We strapped her down on the changing mat and Emily held her head while I pulled it out with tweezers. Goodtimes. Ahh, I forgot to mention that she found her rainbow colored mittens earlier in the day, and had been wearing them all afternoon. Just another day in toddlerland.
