Lizzie's sister Alice was born on the 24th, and came home a few days later. Mama and baby (9lbs 1 oz) are going great, but there will be more about that in Alice's blog.
Big L has had about a week to adjust to the presence of "baby sticker." Everything seems to be going fine so far. There have been many sources of stimulation and attention for Lizzie: Grandma has been staying with us for a couple weeks, last weekend O'mama and O'pa came for a short visit, Monika continues to help out on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons, and of course school every morning from 8:30-12. So she has been well distracted -- we'll have to wait until the dust settles to see how the 4 of us get along without anyone else around.
Lizzie continues her rapid absorption of new concepts and words. She can count to 5 -- not just reciting the sequence of words. She actually knows what the numbers mean. Of course she makes a few mistakes, and apparently 4 does not exist. She is great with plurals and possessives, or maybe she just likes putting "s"s at the end of certain words. "Three bears" and "two bears" are some of her favorite phrases. She is also using articles, saying "up the stairs" instead of just "up stairs". Grandma has been training her well.
I think I need to go sleep...
