Last week Lizzie and I had a nice week camping in PEI with the Blanchards on their annual trip. The 13 hour car ride there and back went amazingly smooth. As is the custom on these trips, seafood was consumed and Liz did her share sampling mussels, scallops, salmon, crab, lobster, clams, haddock and cod to name a few. Steve and I even managed to consume beer as if it did not cost $22 per 12pack.
The whole Blanchard gang was there, except for Emily (Mommy), who was busy schmoozing at the NBER conference. Most importantly, the Cousins were there so Liz had some kids to play with. Most days were spent playing with the cousins, going to the beach or playing with the Aerobie (and crying).
Liz was a great camper. Sleeping in the tent was lots of fun, and she didn't mind being outside a bit. Showering in the campground showers and potty trips were all without incident. Liz even managed to sneak off on a potty-run by herself without telling anyone. Weren't we surprised!
All in all it was a great trip.
