Still 2 again

Liz is a very sweet and gentle kid, most of the time. But wow, she is stubborn, getting disobedient and sometimes naughty. Her teacher Jane at school asked us if we had had her hearing checked recently. She can hear just fine, thank you. She just listens very selectively. So, she's definitely still 2.

The end of the school year approaches for Liz. It will be sad to move her away from her friends, but she'll make new friends very quickly at her new school. We've said goodbye to two more babysitters (Monika and Jacquie). Mom and Dad are finishing up teaching for the semester. Summer is coming and we will be moving soon. It really feels like our time in VA is wrapping up, and its sad that Liz likely won't remember this place at all. We have tons of pictures and memories.

Mom and Dad picked out a new house for us in NH (well, it was mostly Dad). I think the kids will love it. Lots of fields, woods, trails, wildlife and a brook. And snow, hopefully.

Things continue to change for Liz. Most notably, little sister has started commando-crawling. She'll scoot over and grab whatever Liz has in her lap. This is usually met with "mine" and pulling it away and turning away from Alice. Its interesting that Liz is good at sharing with Alice, and is great at picking out a toy for her, but Liz is very selfish when Alice grabs at the toy she is playing with. We've had a few attempts at getting them to sleep in the same room. It hasn't gone well and now when we suggest it, Liz returns a quick "Alice go away."

One thing that hasn't changed too much lately is our health. Seems Liz has been sick for nearly a month, and everyone's had something on and off all winter/spring. Her fever got bad tonight, so we expect a trip to the Doc in the morning. We had to go in a few weeks ago and were lucky enough to get some chest x-rays for possible pneumonia. Hopefully it will clear up soon.

I guess that;s all for now.
