hugs and kisses

Well, its been about a month since our last post. Here's some news.

Lizzie has started giving hugs and kisses in the past few weeks. Its utterly adorable. Kisses and hugs for Cocoa bear, stuffed animals, cats, parents, etc. She even kisses the animals printed on her PJs, and offers us her animals for kisses as well.

She also goes up and down full flights of stairs on her own. She was a bit slow with this milestone, I think it was mostly nerves and confidence. She went up a full flight about 6 weeks ago, and 3 weeks ago started going down. She's getting close to running. For now its mostly an out of control fast walk when going downhill.

Her addiction to signing time has deepened... We're lucky if we can limit her to a single episode per day. There are some benefits: Lizzie is learning signs and very quickly and it gives us some free time to pickup or whatever. Some new word/signs are: wind, rain, snow, apple, daddy, mama, banana, cereal, baby, flower, juice, cold, baby, etc. Sometimes she makes gestures that we don't understand...maybe she knows a sign that we do not know, but maybe she is "babbling" in signs (why not?). She sits on the couch and watches, giggling when it starts. At least its educational.

She's started the jibber-jabbering of stringing random sounds together in "sentences". That started about a week ago, and until then she spoke primarily in single words. It literally sound like jibber-jabber-jibber-jabber. Hilarious. She also seems to be mixing in some new consonant sounds, j's, l's, w's, th's, and a few more.
