This afternoon I witnessed the first instance of Lizzie propping herself to sitting without walls or crib rails for support. Our little girl is growing up so quickly! She is also rolling from her back straight into an all-fours position, rocking back and forth, oh-so-ready to crawl (but not quite yet). Solids are continuing to go well: Cheerios are a big hit this week, as bananas and plain yogurt continue to be. Plums and peaches are also received with great enthusiasm. Add those to the list with carrots, apples, sweet potatoes, rice, oatmeal... but not peas. No. Definitely not peas.
In other news, we enjoyed a delightful visit today from my Uncle Roy (that's great uncle to Lizzie). The weather was miserable, but the company made up for it. Remarkably, Lizzie behaved herself for the duration and showed nary a sign of teething peevishness. Not bad!
And the last piece of big news: just a short 17 months after applying, we've been offered a spot in childcare for August! Now we just have to make sure we like the darned place. Time to horse race between the two favored facilities (and hope we get into the second if that's which we prefer). Boy oh boy, we're having exciting days down here!
