HOT HOT HOT

Wow, its been hot here the past few weeks. High temps routinely reach the mid 90s. Its been tough to get outside with Lizzie. Good thing she likes playing in the water. Its the only way to keep her cool.

There are a few firsts to report: first ice cream cone (check the picasa pics), first piddle in the potty (sorry no pic), first finger painting session (again, check the pics), and of course new words are coming daily.

Lizzie's new obsessions are coloring and animals, and so most of her new words are colors and animals. She knows the signs for most of them, and can tell you what most animals say -- i.e. a cat says "meow". She needs to color at least two or three times per day. We've finally weaned her from the really soft crayons to regular ones which are more difficult for her to eat. Finger painting was a smashing success, if success means the paint went straight into her hair and the paper ended up uniformly brown-green.

I guess thats all for now. We're heading to Maine soon, where Lizzie will eat her first lobster. See you soon.
